GYML8511 UV (Ultraviolet) Sensor Module
The ML8511 UV Sensor Module is an easy-to-use ultraviolet light detection module designed to measure UV radiation and provide an analog voltage output proportional to the detected UV intensity. Based on the ML8511 UV sensor IC, the module is suitable for Arduino, microcontroller, and other embedded applications that require UV light monitoring.
The ML8511 is most sensitive to wavelengths from approximately 280 to 390 nm, covering the UVB spectrum and a significant portion of the UVA spectrum. The sensor produces an analog output voltage that varies with the intensity of the detected ultraviolet light, allowing a microcontroller with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to easily read and process the UV level.
Unlike conventional photodetection solutions that may require additional optical conversion circuitry, the ML8511 provides a direct analog voltage output related to UV intensity. This makes it convenient for integration with MCU-based systems and simplifies the design of UV monitoring devices.
The sensor IC uses SOI-CMOS technology and incorporates an internal operational amplifier. Its compact surface-mount package makes it suitable for portable and space-constrained electronic products.

How ML8511 Works
