This develoment board is an upgraded version of Leonardo. The control chip is same Atmega32U4 as used by Leonardo, so it can still directly control the communication between USB and the host computer, and simulate the keyboard, mouse and other peripherals of the PC.

The most prominent feature of Esplora is the addition of several built-in input devices and sensors, as well as several input and output interfaces. It is also made into the shape of a game console control board. The components added to the board include:
